Two Warriors. One Mission: Survive.
In Season 9 of Dual Survival, Discovery Channel brought together two of its most seasoned survivalists: EJ Snyder and Jeff Zausch, both veterans of Naked and Afraid XL. This time, they weren’t competing—they were working together.

Each episode dropped EJ and Jeff into a new life-or-death scenario, where they had to rely on skill, grit, and each other to find their way back to safety.

How Far Would You Go to Survive?
This season posed one burning question:

When your back’s against the wall, how far would you push yourself to survive?

EJ and Jeff didn’t just talk survival—they lived it, facing extreme environments that tested every limit.

Brutal Locations. Real Risk.

EJ and Jeff took on:

  • Hostile jungles of Brazil
  • Scorching Utah slot canyons
  • Alligator-infested swamps of Louisiana
  • A deep cave system in the Republic of Georgia
  • Lion country near South Africa’s Wild Coast
  • Botswana’s hippo- and elephant-dense delta

From tropical heat to freezing caves, predators to dehydration, every episode delivered raw, high-stakes survival.

Survival, Brotherhood, and Unbreakable Will
More than just a test of survival skills, Dual Survival highlighted the power of teamwork under pressure. EJ and Jeff showed that trust, communication, and a warrior mindset can make all the difference between life and death.

SELF RELIANCE ART: EJ and Jeff while traveling between locations, found themselves smack dab in the middle of a Military Coup in Turkey while at the Istanbul International Airport in July of 2016. EJ and Jeff sprang into action gathering supplies, securing the area, planning Evacuation Routes, and aiding other stranded travelers, many of whom were from all different parts of the world.
